Condensation: throwing away the unnecessary, leaving the essence, is the most powerful tool of poetry, design, and a good idea. Omar Khayyam could fit complex philosophical questions into a single quatrain. Even the legend — never verified — that Hemingway wrote a novel in six words shows the power of six.
